I almost managed to meet my daily productivity targets, but, unfortunately, I stumbled today. I almost thought about rejiggering my productivity schedule to give me a pass for today, but then I stopped myself. It’s not really my fault that I didn’t make it (I just forgot to formally adjust my goals for vacation, even though I’d adjusted them in my mind), but that’s how it starts. Cutting a corner in order to give yourself a pass is something that always seems good at the time, but it compromises the health of the entire system. Ideally, a well-designed system should include room for lapses.
