Sold a story — “The Black Spirits Which Rage In The Belly Of Rogue Locomotives” — to Daily Science Fiction

I sold this story like two weeks ago and didn’t mention it here because I’m just blase like that. It’s called “The Black Spirits Which Rage In The Belly Of Rogue Locomotives”. Yes that is an awesome title. It’s taken from the second paragraph of F.T. Marinetti’s 1909 Futurist Manifesto. Yes, Marinetti was kind of a fascist (in the sense that he was an actual card-carrying Italian Fascist). Yes, his manifesto includes agenda points like: “We want to demolish museums and libraries, fight morality, feminism and all opportunist and utilitarian cowardice” and “To admire an old picture is to pour our sensibility into a funeral urn instead of casting it forward with violent spurts of creation and action. ” But whatever, guys, it’s still a good manifesto.

This story is really good. It’s one of the best I’ve ever written. When it comes out, you should definitely read it.

Thanks, I have no idea when it will come out, but I will post when it does.

I will read it purely on the strength of its title. Also, I suppose, the strength of your writing; but it’s the title that’s hooked me.

And now I want to be a fascist.

Thanks. Also, don’t sign up unless they give you a free pair of shiny boots.
