In 24 hours I will kick the dust of Willows off my shoes and head north for Portland, OR, where, if the stars are in conjunction, two friends will meet me (I’m still not entirely certain that they won’t end up in Indianopolis or something). Then, sometime in the middle of next week I will head south for the Bay Area.
This stint working for the Valley Mirror has been fun and extremely informative. There’s no better way to get the sense of an area than to work for its newspaper of record. I learned more about journalism in my first week here than I learned in three years at the Stanford Daily.
